Charity

The Lodge Of Stability, No.217, is a Grand Patron of The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution, Grand Patron of The Masonic Samaritan Fund, Grand Patron of The Masonic Trust For Girls & Boys and Grand Patron Lodge of The MMC London Fire Brigade Appeal.

We support many masonic and non-masonic charities.  We donate through gift aid envelops and raffles at our festive board after each meeting.  We also organize specific fund raising for specific causes at different events.  We support the Metropolitan Grand Lodge’s charity appeal which in the past has funded air ambulances and is currently raising money for London Fire Brigade “Lift for Life” appeal.  However there are many other charitable causes that members put forward that we support.

In October 2018 we held a combined Stability 217 and Helios 8311 Festival in Kent. Helios is a sister lodge of Stability and there are many members in both lodges. The masters of both lodges chose charities which were the London Fire Brigade Lift for Life London Masons Appeal https://www.londonmasons.org.uk/ and Blesma, the limbless veterans charity https://blesma.org/ .  Through a raffle and events on the night we raised significant amount of money for both charities through the generosity of member and their guests who donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, participated in events and made donations on the night.

In December 2019 we held our Lodge of Instruction Festival.  At this event we held an auction for various prizes which had been donated by lodge members and charities we were working with.  These ranged from sporting events and memorabilia, to holidays, driver training and even paws in work puppy therapy!  We raised a significant amount of money through the generous bids at the auction for donated prizes, raffles and donations on the day for the two chosen charities which were London Fire Brigade Lift for Life appeal and Matt Hampson Foundation, which is a charity to help with rehabilitation from those injured from sporting activities https://www.matthampsonfoundation.org/.
